Granite
This is a completely flat, softly textured
plaster wall. The cut granite, the niche with the candlestick,
and the ivy are all painted effects. Upon closer inspection,
one can see that the candle has just been blown out, as
there is still a glow at the end of the wick and a wisp
of smoke rising from it.

Ocean
View
A desert dweller missed the ocean. Her
blank kitchen wall became a deck, complete with potted plants,
overlooking a the beach and breaking waves. The pantry door
was disguised with the help of a touch-latch and hidden
hinges. You can barely see the line of the door if you look
closely.
Size: approximately 8’ x 12’

Pool
House
The new pool house blocked a view. The
owner wanted a view restored, so an archway was painted
onto the existing exterior stucco and a garden view was
created.
In order to achieve a high level of realism, the surface
of the wall inside the painted arch area was smoothed by
applying a new, very smooth stucco texture.
Size: approximately 6’ x 10

A simple graphic image to decorate an otherwise
uninteresting wall makes this house truly unique in the
neighborhood.

Thunderbird
The image of a thunderbird highlights the
entrance of this southwestern home. This was painted in
a two- to three-tone application to give it a look of being
part of the actual building, and softer, aged look.
Size: 9’ x 9’

Tucson
This mural is located in the ERA Realty
Office complex in Tucson, Arizona. I received what for me
was a very nice compliment on this work when I was told
that a gentleman actually bumped his nose on the wall, attempting
to access the garden.

WAC
mural
Businesses can enhance otherwise blank and uninteresting
walls by having their logo or other image painted there.
This is the Wickenburg Art Club building.

Yeii
A modified image of a Navajo sand painting
was the inspiration for this mural. These spirits of the
winds or “yeii” bring fortune and well-being
with them. In this case, the room was large and cold, needing
something to bring warmth and friendliness to the area.
The design complimented the owner’s décor.

Stairway mural
A stairway to a daylight basement was rough-finished
and cold. The homeowners wanted a desert garden scene.
The mural was painted on three panels in my studio, then
installed in the stairway over the three rough walls. Finishing
touches were added above the existing wood molding to tie
the panels into the upper walls. The final fourth wall
was painted on-site.

Sunset Cowboy (Rancho
Bar 7)
This is a commissioned mural in downtown Wickenburg. The
owner of the Rancho Bar 7 wanted a western theme in keeping
with the town's character. The local landmark Vulture Peak
is in the background and as the cowboy turns to look at
the sky - all reflecting a spectacular sunset, which is
just out of view.
Size: approximately 60' x 15' |

Wreath
I painted a frame to set off my painted wreath on the
upper portion of the fireplace in a custom home. The natural
light came from large windows to one side, so the frame
was highlighted accordingly.
Size: approximately 4' x 4'
